It takes years of in-depth industry involvement to understand the latest developments in Life Sciences. Our team members are Life Sciences practitioners and investors with vast operative and entrepreneurial experience. They understand the key issues that are involved in building sustainable companies – from preclinical/clinical development and regulatory affairs right through to team building, market entry, financing, and value creation.

Venture Partners

The investment team is supported by our Venture Partner network in Europe and the United States. It consists of well-established, highly networked professionals who are active in the sectors that are of relevance for our portfolio companies. Our Venture Partners provide three dimensions of assistance: First, by benchmarking the investment opportunities against the global best of breed. Second, by helping us connect our portfolio companies with the top levels at relevant market players so that we can truly jump-start our companies’ expansion strategies. Third, by bringing the right people into our companies, thus steadily enriching the available talent pool and allowing the companies to adapt at any time to the challenges over the course of their development.

Operations Team

An organization can only perform as well as the necessary information its back-office provides. Especially in venture capital business, the information needs to be precise and fast – and that’s exactly what our Operations Team does day in and day out. Based in Zurich and Munich, the team focuses on finance, legal affairs, and human resources; two General Partners act as the CFO and legal counsel, respectively. The team’s regular responsibilities include supporting the establishment of up-to-date reporting at the portfolio companies and answering their questions concerning accounting, financing or legal issues.

The employment of a dedicated HR expert, our portfolio talent manager Sabine Scherer, is what sets Wellington Partners apart. Sabine assists all of our portfolio companies in assuring smooth recruitment and in building the management teams that are vital to their success. Her network gives start-ups access to the leading executive search companies as well as to the alumni networks of top-flight universities and employers.
