The next generation of biomass gasification
Founded in 2007, agnion is a biomass gasification specialist with a unique value proposition in a fast-growing market. The patented Heatpipe-Reformer allows a gasification of biomass at competitive costs with a much higher degree of utilization compared to current proceedings. The distributed plants are able to produce synthetic natural gas (SNG) as well as combined heat and power or hydrogen and are tailor-made for the characteristics of the biomass market, especially the inevitable short distances between production and exploitation. The technology edge and the market potential have convinced Wellington Partners as well as Kleiner Perkins and Munich Venture Partners, the prime VC partner of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, to invest in the company in June 2009.
