Hailo makes sure people are never more than two taps away from a licensed taxi and that cabbies get more passengers when they want them, which means more journeys taken by passengers and more profitable shifts for drivers.
Founded in 2010 by three London licensed taxi drivers and three serial Internet entrepreneurs, the team includes some of the world’s best mobile platform engineers, with millions of app store downloads to their names and one patented real-time optimisation engine under their belt. They hail from companies like Google, IG Index, WooMe, RealVNC, and eCourier. They work out of an office on a ship moored on the Thames in central London.
Wellington Partners co-led a seed investment with Atomico Ventures in the first half of 2011.
