mtm laboratories AG specializes in the development and marketing of products for the early detection, diagnosis, and prevention of cervical cancer, the second most common cancer in women. The company owns the rights for p16, a biomarker that is highly specific for cervical cancer, and has already developed and launched several diagnostic products based on this technology. mtm operates on a global basis with headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany and subsidiaries in the US, France, Italy and Spain. mtm laboratories was founded in August 1999 as a spin-off from the German Center for Cancer Research (DKFZ) in Heidelberg.
