Developing modular low cost
waste heat conversion systems

The team of Orcan has developed a small scale (20 kW), modular organic rankine cycle (ORC) technology which transforms waste heat from industrial processes into electricity. It will help plant operators to significantly boost their energy and economic efficiency. Using waste heat for electricity production means establishing a local, CO2-free, and cost-effective source of energy. The potential of such a technology in the age of climate change convinced Wellington Partners to invest in this spin-off of the TU Munich in May 2011.

First investment: May 2011
