Founded in 2007 when it pioneered ‘video blogging’, Seesmic has developed a comprehensive platform that supports multichannel social networking communications. Seesmic Desktop enables users to follow their friends’ updates, messages, and replies on a single screen, regardless of whether they use Facebook, Twitter, or other social channels. At the same time, users can pilot their own social networking activities, sharing links and messages as well as video blogs.
The San Francisco-based company was founded by French serial entrepreneur Loïc Le Meur, also a Wellington Venture Partner, and has gained the support of high profile investors such as eBay founder Pierre Omidyar (through Omidyar Network) and the Skype co-founders, Niklas Zennström and Janus Friss.
