Trigen

Winning worldwide support in the fight against cardiovascular disease

Trigen is active in drug discovery and development of innovative drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Following the acquisition of ProCorde in 2005, Trigen has grown to become a leader in antithrombotics with footholds in London and Munich.

The company’s product pipeline includes two clinical-stage candidates, flovagatran (formerly TGN 255) and PR-15. Flovagatran is a direct thrombin inhibitor with a unique pharmacokinetic profile due to its nonrenal clearance, which is expected to enter phase III during the course of 2007 in Europe and the US. PR-15 is a human fusion protein with antiplatelet activity based on a completely novel and unique mechanism of action, and has just successfully completed phase I. Trigen has also developed a portfolio of exciting pre-clinical and discovery-stage programmes addressing new targets in thrombosis and atherosclerosis.

Wellington invested in October 2005 and has supported Trigen with advice on regulatory strategy, clinical development, financing and strategic positioning.
