Wellington Partners was truly a founding investor of ImmobilienScout24 in 1998. We played an active role in developing the idea of a central platform for real estate business in Germany, and even accommodated the founder team in our Munich offices. Right from the very beginning, the market embraced the idea of a single platform for such a fragmented market, and helped the company conquest a position of leadership very early on. At the same time, the founder team took advantage of their first-mover advantage and launched several sister companies, such as Autoscout24 and Jobscout24. Wellington Partners naturally also invested in their parent company, Scout.
Following the successful conclusion of the rollout, Wellington Partners sold its stake in ImmobilienScout24 to a strategic investor, with the Scout Group later being acquired by Deutsche Telekom. Today, ImmobilienScout24 is the undisputed market leader in online real estate business in Germany with more than 3 million visitors, 700 million page impressions and 1.2 million offers for properties each month.
