Serial web entrepreneur, Loïc Le Meur, joined Wellington’s Venture Partner program in 2008. French-born Loïc moved to San Francisco in the summer of 2007 to start his latest company, Seesmic, having already created and sold four other Internet start-ups in Europe. As a venture partner, he will support Wellington’s portfolio companies in the field of digital media and internet services looking at expanding in the US. Loïc has become one of the leading figures of the Web 2.0 world. He founded and grew French weblog hosting company U-blog and merged it with Six Apart, where he is still Honorary Chairman. He also co-founded the LeWeb3 conference in Paris, which he organizes every year with growing success. His blog is the most well-known in France with more than 250 000 unique visitors per month.
Wellington’s portfolio companies will profit hugely from Loïc’s invaluable knowledge and network, gained over more than 12 years of experience as a Web entrepreneur. Before serving as Executive VP of Six Apart EMEA from 2003 to 2007, this European web pioneer founded and served as CEO for several companies in France including U-blog, B2L and RapidSite France, the first shared Web hosting company, launched in 1997 and sold to France Telecom. Loic graduated from HEC, one of the top business schools in France.
