Eric Ly
Venture Partner
Eric Ly became a Venture Partner at Wellington in 2008. Eric is currently Founder and CEO of Presdo, a new online scheduling application. As a venture partner, he will support Wellington's portfolio companies in the area of Internet services, with particular emphasis on social networking and social media applications, product development, technology scalability and viral marketing techniques. Prior to Presdo, Eric was a co-founder of LinkedIn, where he was its founding CTO and a Vice President. With LinkedIn for more than three years, Eric helped LinkedIn create a rapidly-growing member base and achieve profitability, while creating some of the core capabilities of the service. Eric previously co-founded two other venture-backed internet companies, one in the mobile sector and the other in the collaboration space, which had successful exits. He has also worked at General Magic, Sun, NeXT and IBM, where he participated in several seminal projects at these companies.
Eric is a long-time resident of Silicon Valley, where he grew up and attended school. Eric graduated from Stanford University with a bachelors degree with Distinction in Symbolic Systems and from the MIT Media Lab with a masters degree in Media Arts and Sciences.
