Investment Criteria – What we look for in Technology

Wellington Partners is a stage-agnostic investor, ready to support companies from a very early stage to the point of roll-out on a global scale.

Across our four sectors, we invest in early-stage companies. We are looking for great entrepreneurs with game-changing products or services and a very scalable business model. Especially in Cleantech and Electronics, we prefer to back business plans based on strong intellectual property. Furthermore, we are happy to provide liquidity or an exit opportunity to existing shareholders as part of an overall investment concept.

We also invest in growth-stage companie which already have strong customer and revenue traction. Typical funding scenarios include high-growth companies with global leadership ambitions, regional champions with strong growth in a large addressable market, and buy-out situations in profitable growth companies.

In some cases, we provide seed financing as well. Such investments at a very early stage are restricted to companies founded by entrepreneurs we know well or who are recommended by our network. In any case, we focus on ground-breaking technologies and business concepts developed by an outstanding team.
